THE ROLE

Junior Robotics & UAV Engineer

This position is open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents only.

SingaporeFull-timeFresh graduates & early-career engineers welcome
Apply by email ↗

We are a Singapore-based engineering company specialising in UAVs, robotics, embedded systems, autonomous technologies and customised system integration.

Our work involves real hardware, real software and real engineering challenges — from embedded controllers and sensors to autonomous drones, robotic platforms and intelligent systems.

We are looking for a hands-on Junior Robotics & UAV Engineer who enjoys building things, solving problems and continuously improving their technical skills.

You don’t need to know everything when you join us. But you should have strong fundamentals, enjoy technical challenges, and be willing to figure things out.

01 / YOUR WORK

What You Will Do

1.1 Software & Embedded Development

  • Develop and debug software using Python and C++.
  • Work with microcontrollers such as ESP32 and STM32.
  • Integrate sensors, communication modules and embedded computing platforms.
  • Develop software interfaces for hardware control and data acquisition.

1.2 Robotics & UAV Systems

  • Participate in the development and integration of UAV and robotic platforms.
  • Work with Linux-based systems, ROS/ROS 2, PX4 and related technologies.
  • Integrate cameras, LiDAR, IMU, UWB and other sensing systems.
  • Support the development of robotic control, positioning and autonomous functions.

1.3 Engineering & Problem-Solving

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and communication issues.
  • Investigate root causes rather than relying only on temporary fixes.
  • Test and validate engineering solutions on real equipment.
  • Improve system reliability, maintainability and performance.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and version-controlled code.

This is a hands-on engineering and development role, not an operations or administrative position.

02 / YOUR FOUNDATION

What We Are Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or a related engineering discipline.
  • Good programming foundation in Python and/or C++.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu.
  • Understanding of basic electronics, microcontrollers and common communication interfaces.
  • Practical experience gained through university projects, internships or personal engineering projects.
  • Ability to approach unfamiliar technical problems logically and independently.
  • Willingness to learn, experiment and take responsibility for engineering work.

Good to Have — Not Mandatory

  • ROS / ROS 2
  • PX4 / ArduPilot / MAVLink
  • ESP32 / STM32 / Raspberry Pi / NVIDIA Jetson
  • UART / I²C / SPI / CAN
  • OpenCV / computer vision
  • LiDAR / UWB / indoor positioning
  • Git and collaborative software development

We value practical engineering ability and problem-solving skills more than academic grades alone.

ROOM TO START

Your first engineering role?
Bring your curiosity.

You do not need a complete portfolio or previous full-time engineering experience to apply.

Tell us about a school assignment, final-year project, internship or personal build. We are interested in your contribution, the problems you encountered and how you approached them.

Project and portfolio links are optional.

HOW WE WORK

Why Join AERISE?

Real Engineering, Not Just Routine Tasks

Work on actual UAVs, robotic systems and embedded platforms. You’ll have opportunities to develop, integrate, troubleshoot and test engineering solutions that are used in real projects.

Learn from Experienced Engineers

Work closely with engineers who have practical experience in solving complex hardware and software integration challenges. We encourage understanding the underlying problem rather than simply following instructions.

Broaden Your Technical Experience

Gain exposure to different technologies and develop the ability to work across electronics, embedded software, robotics and autonomous systems.

We Value Efficiency, Not Long Hours

We believe engineers should be recognised for solving problems effectively and delivering reliable results — not for how late they stay at work.

We operate on a five-day work week, with no routine evening or weekend overtime. Occasional project requirements will be handled in accordance with applicable employment terms.

Grow with the Company

As your technical capabilities, independence and responsibilities develop, there will be opportunities for greater ownership of engineering projects.

IS THIS YOU?

Who Will Do Well Here?

You’ll likely enjoy working at AERISE if you:

  • Like figuring out why something doesn’t work — and finding a proper solution.
  • Enjoy both programming and hands-on hardware development.
  • Are curious about how different systems communicate and work together.
  • Prefer meaningful technical challenges over repetitive tasks.
  • Take pride in producing reliable, maintainable engineering work.
  • Want to grow into an engineer capable of independently developing and delivering complete systems.

We don’t expect you to have all the answers. We value engineers who know how to find them.
