A hands-on UAV learning programme designed to help students and educators move from coding concepts to real-world multi-drone operation.

On 31 August 2026, AERISE conducted a four-session hands-on multi-drone workshop at Nanyang Polytechnic, bringing together UAV programming, system testing and real-world flight in a structured learning environment.

The workshop was designed to give students and educators practical exposure to unmanned aerial systems beyond classroom theory. Through a progressive learning format, participants explored how code can be translated into physical flight behaviour, how drone systems respond in real time, and how multiple drones can be coordinated for hands-on learning activities.

From Classroom Concepts to Real-World Flight

At AERISE, we believe that effective robotics and UAV education should connect software, hardware and real-world experimentation. Instead of treating drones only as demonstration tools, our goal is to help learners understand how engineering decisions affect actual system behaviour.

Throughout the programme, participants engaged with the HULA drone platform through guided coding, testing and flight activities. The workshop introduced key ideas in UAV control, multi-drone operation, system integration and iterative testing, helping students move from “write code” to “observe, test, improve and fly.”

Why It Matters

The 4-session format allowed the learning experience to build step by step. Participants were able to start with foundational concepts and gradually progress toward more coordinated drone activities, gaining a clearer understanding of how autonomous and semi-autonomous systems are developed and tested.
